Twenty-Two Americana Artists in Eight Hours: A Day Well Spent at the Bill Wence Promotions Showcase during SXSW

Music promoter Bill Wence from Nashville, Tennessee hosted his music showcase yesterday during SXSW at Black’s BBQ in Austin, Texas, featuring twenty-two Americana and Country singer-songwriters. The top of each hour featured either singer-songwriters in the round, or a full band on an intimate patio stage canopied under a huge oak tree.

Music lovers who came to listen enjoyed a day filled with great artists (and really good BBQ), and thanks to Big John Mills, great-sounding music (not only did he perform, he even managed the sound system for everyone)… even the weather cooperated with cool temps and minimal lunchtime sprinkles to make for the perfect outdoors showcase.

I wanted to thank Mr. Wence for his kindness and for welcoming me to take photographs…it was a genuine pleasure to meet him and to hear all of the talented artists who made this event such a joy to attend.
