The 2nd annual Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival near Austin, Texas takes place October 16-18, 2015, featuring thirty-seven songwriters and six headliners who come from the local area and around the globe. Co-founded by singer-songwriter Jim Halfpenny, the festival enjoyed overnight success in 2014 as an event that combines intimate singer-songwriter showcases at local venues, combined with strong headliners to cap off Friday’s and Saturday’s performances. The format is singer-songwriter in the round.

Specifically, the festival’s showcases are held at six local venues: (FREE events)

The Barber Shop Bar

Mercer Street Dance Hall (*Headliner Main Stage)

Mazama Coffee Company

The Mercantile

The Sidecar Tasting Room

Hudson’s On Mercer

The elite headliner showcases require a ticket purchase, and are held at the end of each evening at the Main Stage at Mercer Street Dancehall on Friday and Saturday nights.

About the Festival:

You are invited to the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country to come and enjoy an exciting weekend of phenomenal singer/songwriter showcases. This 2nd annual event is an “industry-opposite” change from the typical  “Austin-palooza-music-fest” that everyone is familiar with.  We’re offering people the up-close and personal chance to see, hear, and get to know some very talented performers who have a deep love of the art of songwriting.   Put plainly, the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival is all about  finely-crafted SONGS, and the talented folks who have written them.
