The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is a huge, family friendly musical event encompassing a wide range of genres that takes place in Inverness, Scotland, specifically at the Belladrum estate grounds. In addition to the many musical stage acts and cultural events that take place over the second weekend of August, there is a two week “fringe” period of pre-festival performances that occur throughout the town at various venues in anticipation of the Festival, appropriately called the Belladrum Tartan Heart Fringe.

Several stages on the grounds feature numerous artists from an eclectic range of musical genres. The Main Garden Stage, Black Isle Brewery Grassroots Stage, Crabbie’s Hothouse Stage, the Xpo North Seedling Stage, the Free Range Stage, Mother’s Ruin, and the Medicine Show Potting Stage comprise the entertainment hot spots at the festival.

This year (2015), the Medicine Show Potting Stage, one of the many festival stages, features roots and “medicine show” music, presented by the Wayward Ellen boys (brothers Rob and Mark Ellen), who regularly host their own respective radio shows in the United Kingdom.

Rob and Mark Ellen are deeply-involved supporters of this event, having co-founded the Belladrum Festival back in 2004.

Excerpt from UKCountryRadio.com (station which broadcasts Rob Ellen’s “Health and Happiness Hour” radio show):

Rob Ellen has been involved in music development in Scotland for nearly 30 years….”… “…He helped found and continues to help organise Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival…” (and) “…(Rob) also organises the Tartan Heart Fringe and Potting Shed Stage with the help of Square Wheels Cycles of Strathpeffer.
